Adobe Training

I just purchased the latest Adobe Video Collection and I'm looking for some training DVDs. The prices are all over the place, Total training wants $700 for the whole video collection [AE6.5, PPro 1.5 etc], DMTS wants $299 but it is for PPro and AE6, and GEODONKA wants $199 for AE6.5.

Do you think there's enough of a difference between PPro 1.5 and PPro, and AE6 and AE6.5 that I should rule out purchasing a training package that costs half as much?

Does anyone have any experience with these training DVDs? Does anyone know of any other training resources?

Thanks.

Those training DVD's are actually pretty good. I'm more of a visual learner than anything so these DVD's are a great tool and shows you pretty much everything you need to know from basics to advanced materials. I actually got mine from the creative cow convention. I won it through their raffles they had. If you can get it cheap, then get it. There great and you can play it repeatably till you understand it. It beats having some dude with bad breath talking over youwhile telling you where the render button is.

Thanks man, I've used Premier for about four years and I can get the PPro1.0 really cheap, I'm just worried that there's a big difference between PPro and 1.5.

Also, is there a big difference between AE6 and 6.5?

Chucks, honestly stick with 1.0 for now till they release 2.0, lets hope they fix the 24p problem. My work has the lastest version of Premiere and boy I don't notice anything special. That's why I decided not to make the upgrade. AE on the other hand yes. You should upgrade depending on your level of expertease. I was still trying to master 5.5 then out of nowhere 6.5 was released. 6.5 is great with many new features. The Adobe website gives you all the 411. The best thing to do right now is find the best price for these programs. As far as I know Adobe is scamming us. Don't get me wrong, I love most adobe products but sometimes they make a pretty lousy upgrade and expect us the consumers to pay a few extra hundred dollars for something that we might or may never use. good luck on your choices!

I just purchased the video collection and it has PPro1.5, AE6.5 Audition 1.5 and I think Encore 1.5. They assured me when I purchased it that if their was an upgrade at NAB I would be price protected. :lipsrseal But I can get the PPro 1.0 training DVDs for $75, 1.5 DVDs cost anywhere from $159 to over $300 for Total Training. Since I don't need to be trained how to edit I thought I could go with the 1.0 training and learn the upgrades just like everyone else who upgraded from 1.0.

I was really considering purchasing FCPHD with Motion on a G5, I was one of the founders of the company Apple purchased to create Motion, but when you consider the price difference and AE6.5 has a lot of the same functionality plus much better integration with Illusion and Photoshop...

I did find a AE6.5 training DVD series for $200. Total Training is really good, I used them for Premier 6.5 and Photoshop, but they want something like $800 for their complete Video Collection series. :embarasse

i love the total trainning.

i have the set that covers the whole video collection series, when i upgraded to AE pro they gave me the dvd's for pro for next to nothing.

very nice people to deal with.

there set on photoshop cs is very good as well.

Total Training rocks. I went by their booth today at NAB and they already have the training DVD's out for Photoshop CS2 and Adobe isn't releasing CS2 till next month. The guy said they were selling good cause people want to already know the software when they upgrade.

I too have the Video Collection and the Photoshop DVD's. They are worth every penny. I recommend them highly. Just set up a DVD player to your TV next to your computer and follow along step by step.

its also a great use for an old laptop, set it up and just make sure you pause every once in a while or your head will explode!

i mean it is well done but there is still soooo much info in there that its amazing.

they seem to have some very direct ties to adobe so they do have training dvd's out before the products.
