Adobe Premiere Elements vs Adobe Premiere Pro

[BobDiaz]

I'm hoping that someone has some experience with this and knows....

In the case of Final Cut Express and Final Cut Pro, the interface is roughly the same, except the Pro version has a lot more features.

Is this the case for Adobe Premiere Elements?

If one learns Adobe Premiere Elements, is that a good starting point for working with Adobe Premiere Pro?

OR is it a case where the two packages use a VERY different interface?

Thanks,

Bob Diaz

At least for Premiere elements 7, the interface has a more consumer oriented feel to it, but it still packs a lot of features for the buck and works pretty much the same. Just the way they hand hold you through the menus and add the web services comeons is a little annoying.

There is a chance I may be working with Adobe Premiere Pro in the future and I 'm hoping that Adobe Premiere Elements 9 has an interface close enough to the Pro version that if I learn the Elements version, switching to Pro won't be that hard.
