I finished a movie in PP cs4 and I'm trying to encode this with AME so I can put the vid on youtube and vimeo, but during the encoding process, I will get an unknown error and it will cancel the encoding process.

I've made vids with the same settings but never tried to export a 7 min video.

I shutdown the computer, restarted it, so idk now. I could update it but I don't want to mess up my cs4 suite

So I was finally able to export the movie without it cutting out.

But now the exported file plays fine but near the end the video footage gets choppy with other frames and repeats itself?

lol

If you're making an h.264 make sure you aren't using Quicktime Player to validate your work. If your CPU isn't fast enough, or you use too high of a level/profile Quicktime Player does weird things upon playback. Try Media Player Classic Home Cinema, or VLC. Chances are the file will play back more accurately.

Check to make sure you aren't maxing out your CPU upon playback. You can see CPU usage in windows by pressing CTRL + SHIFT + ESC. (Under the performance Tab)

The final exported file plays fine for a bit but then near the end its choppy and missing frames. It was like that in quicktime and windows media player.

Now I looked back and on the timeline, the ending part of the video is choppy and jumping frames.

So I cut it out on the timeline and try to export it again.

Now near the end of AME, it just stops without saying anything. It basically froze but I can pause, unpause, or cancel, etc.

cpu usage is around 50% and 5.31gb/6

Did you render the video in premiere before exporting?
I know that when I have a lot of effects or am working with a large file premiere always seems to export better when the video has been prerendered.
And if the rendering fails at any point just hit enter and it will pick up where it left off (assuming pp doesn't crash) and then just save and export.
