Adobe Media Encoder HELP!

I have used PPro 1.5 for a few years and have exported to DVD, WM9 Streaming and other Adobe Media Encoder presets to clients with very good results.

I've since upgraded to PPro 2.0 and I am having problems getting a quality export using the "WM9 NTSC streaming modem preset." I've compared the settings in 1.5 and 2.0 and they are the same, but the output quality of 2.0 is highly compressed and pixelated as compared to a very nice quality picture in 1.5.

Any ideas? I am doing something wrong?

Thanks,

I'm not sure your doing anything wrong, but compressing using any "modem" preset is going to be highly compressed.

Did you try any of the other presets? I'm not in front of my PC at the moment and I don't remember which preset I use for the web but I think it's just the one for DSL 500kb and it looks good.

I was told by the people who run my streaming server that one should always encode wmv files using the windows media encoder which is a free download. Apparently there are less problems than doing it out of PPPro.

That's what I use and have had no problems.
