Okay, so some of you may know this. Others may not, and they should.
So earlier tonight I was rendering out a project, and my laptop just wasn't running like it should. After some sleuthing, I discovered my system drive was just about full, despite not having much on it but applications, some stock assets, and a bunch of pictures of my dogs.
It turns out that in the Adobe Premiere preferences setup, there's a tab labeled "Media." Inside is an item labeled something like Media Cache Files. Basically, when media is imported, files can be "cached" here, but they rarely seem to go away. In my case, I had about 140GB of media files in my cache folder. In the same preferences tab is a command to clean out the cache folder. I did, and you might want to do the same.
I hate zombie media.
