Adobe issue with export/render?

Premiere's h.264 encoding isn't very good. I don't bother with it. Export an uncompressed AVI file and use the $30 Quicktime Pro software if you want h.264. Looks much better.

I'm going to have to disagree with you. Quicktime Pro's h.264 encoder is very very poor in compairison to Mainconcept's encoder built into premiere.

Also why would you buy Quicktime Pro? The same h.264 encoder is accessible through adobe media encoder.

You should never export h.264 into a quicktime container. There are too many problems. Use Mainconcept's h.264 encoder and place it into a .mp4 container.

The article doesn't say if they used Mainconcept's encoder or Apple encoder. that would create two big differences.

And a single frame comparison is practically meaningless. Is this a b-frame vs. I-frame for example ?

If you want consistently better quality tha either quicktime or mainconcept avc encoders, learn to use x264. It's free
