Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 not reading MPEGs properly

I'm finishing up a training video and have encountered an odd glitch. I shot it on an HVX200 in 720p24pN mode and edited my footage in Avid 5.23 and then sent QT references to Sorensen Squeeze. I then compressed that into an MPEG 2. My settings were as follows:

DVD_NTSC_Lg

Format Constraints: DVD (MPEG2)

Stream Type: Program
Codec: MPEG-2 Video
Method 1-Pass CBR
Data Rate: 8000 Kbps
Format: NTSC
Frame Size: 720x480
Frame Rate: 29.97
Pixel Aspect Ratio: 16:9
Field Encoding: Top Field First (keep getting an error message when I try progressive)
I Frame Rate: 3 (to keep things smooth)

After compressing each of the four sequences, I viewed them in VLC Media Player (and have done so several times since) and they looked fine. I then tried to bring them into Encore DVD 2.0 as assets. When I play them in the program however, giant green blocks keep appearing and disappearing over the image and parts of it pixelate and get distorted. In almost every part there's a huge green haze hanging over everything. I've tried importing older MPEG 2's I've compressed witn Sorensen and they still work fine but this batch is screwed up for some reason even though VLC and other programs have no issue with them. And idea what's going on? Help, my deadline is quickly approaching!

What do you mean by QT References? That might be your issues right there. Odds are the fumble is happening between your editor and your compressor.
