Adobe effects cs5.5 slowing down issue

Hi just wanted to make a quick post as I'm starting to get a little concerned with my adobe cs5.5, which I'm running on my laptop with an i7 processor, 8 gigs of ram and a neat nvidia gtx 460 graphics card. I've never had any problems with it but recently have noticed it seriously slowing down and lagging terribly. To render a simple 10 second piece (with little effects) takes an age, and when i check the processes and system info it shows my computer is running at 92% of it's ram capacity!!?

Just wondering if anyone had a similar problem or idea why this is happening? Am I best of just reinstalling everything?

you sure it's not your computer getting old? If it's really because of the software then I think reinstalling everything will fix the problem.

Check your Page File (Swap File) size.

Adobe needs a large amount of Swap File in order to proceed. It only can do so much in ram.
