Adobe CS3 Accelerator Hardware

It really depends on the type of files your working with.
I've worked on machines with hardware acceleration about 7 years ago, and it was almost necessary when working on broadcast spots that had to be churned out quickly.
However today, I can't recommend hardware accelerated systems for premiere Pro. Espically if you are working only in Standard Definition. The CPUs in modern computers are so fast that you'll find yourself playing back SD content with effects in real time.
As for High definition, as long as what you are doing isn't effect heavy you'll find that the bottleneck is usually in your drive speed. Try getting a raid system setup for your video, and make sure you defrag it every night to keep it nice and speedy.

The usb device you are reffeering to the the Avid/Pinncel Liquid BOB or Breakout Box, and it certianly did NOT accelerate anything, it just lets you pull in componate and other taps without an format converter. It depends on your format to what type of format for external breakouts there are two
the Motu V3HD and V4HD which is for DVCPROHD
and the roland VC-300HD not sure of its link to prem tho but its for HDV
there are also internal solutions like a decklink card or intensity card by BlackMagic, or a XENA by AJA

yeah boy there i some seriese haRDWARES MAN !!ive looked into this !! its very seriese becouse the next generation cs4 has soem kind if leaps and bounds on the next level.
ok ok let me explain i am not a prefessional i am very much an enethusiast of this movie mania ok!!
ok..here goes, i did just install my rt.x2 a day ago awsome so much more than i thought ,but....heres a but for you i did look into other technologies!!
there is soem eclipse and other usb type (mojo) rack style box attachments for all sorts of work even uncompressed!! im an rtx100 fan so i bought 1500$ for a hardware only peice of equipment awsoem too!!
lets see there is ......a difrent kind of technologie invovled sorta when you go outsisde the box ..you rely on your pc mac storage drives to create realtime effects using raid storage for external effect box like eclipse or eclipse pro
there is soemthing on the horizon from texas instruments!!
its an eccelorator for h264 editting on the pc look into it its so new it has yet to be programmed for end users i believe its very real and offers an un heard oif amount of processing power quadrupiling the amount of power provided by the cpu's availble today !!its very extreme i think ill find the name its internal though ..
you may look into securing a super fast storage fiber or soem kind of raid devices to feed your usb device ,soem internal cards like rt.x2 has a slick compression codect that saves massive space,soem outside the box desighns are more demanding,
like black magics multi eclipes system theres more like em to for full length film editing inside of premiere sory long post ive waited to say soemthing about this!

Actually, CS3 does a pretty good job of using the GPU for acceleration. Buy it for business. Use it for Call of Duty 4. It's a win-win.
