adobe audition 3 surround encoder audio hardware setup problem

hello i am trying to mix audio in 5.1 in adobe audition 3. i have a sound blaster titanium x-fi sound card which has 5.1 capability. i have Logitech G51 speakers, which are 5.1. and i have all the connections connect properly. i am running vista 64 bit.

i am trying to do the output channel mapping in the surround encoder tab under the audio hardware setup. i am given the option to set all 5 speakers and the lfe, but i only have two options (two speakers to choose from).

any idea why audition is not picking up my 5.1 set up and allowing me to do a proper output channel mapping?

many thanks in advance. sorry if this is not the right forum, let me know and i will redirect (didnt see an "adobe" forum).

From what I understand Audition (or Protools or Soundtrack Pro for that matter) can only output 5.1 to a device that has 6 dedicated outputs. like the Motu Traveller or similar device. The soundblaster will do 5.1 only after it has become an AC3 encoded file.
