Adobe approved hardware configs?

Talk about a wild goose chase! I just tried to find an AMD configuration for Premiere Pro 2, and got sent to every topic except what I was looking for. Can somebody point me towards a list of approved motherboards please?

I don't think you really gonna get a list of approved MB, but look at something like the ASUS workstation range, very nice boards.

Also check out the new Quadro CX range of GPU's from nVidia, I don't have one yet, waiting for stock in South Africa, but it looks very promising, I mean it was a collaboration between Adobe and nVidia, so it's gotta be good, offers plenty of speed enhancements.

They did have a list of approved hardware at one time, but things are mixed up over there at Adobe's site. One link I found for "Approved Hardware" took me to a video ad for creating video with Adobe products, no mention of hardware anywhere. I need a new MoBo, but really don't want to go with Asus, I have had problems with them before. Considering how finicky Premiere can be, I just want to avoid any issues.

I'm totally confused about quadcore processors. Are socket 775 processors dinosaurs? What's the latest and greatest processor for HD video on PC?

Ok, if ASUS is not your bag, he he he,

then check out the Gigabyte Boards, also very very good. STAY AWAY from the INTEL X38, X48 boards, they're not up to the challenge.

the hardware lists are here: http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/dvhdwrdb.html

but they have Capture Cards, Cameras and VTRs, DVD Burners, Graphics Cards, and Sound Cards in the list. No Mobos!

Thanks Derrick. I haven't had an Intel since the 286 days. Been a huge AMD fan because of the price/performance level, and their customer support won me over. I tried looking at turnkey systems to see what board they used, but all of them are Intels.

Sean, it depends of what you are doing. I was editing HDV with a single core 1.5 ghz chip. I have a new 64 bit dual core waiting for my next build... if I can find a good board.
