Adding sound to film?

How does it work? does the film camera record the sound with the film but it cost extra to add to it, to on a hard drive? or are there 16mm camera that record sound and some that dont? is the same with 35mm cameras?

last question-

how much would it cost to have everthing include when putting film on a hard drive like for 16mm and 35mm- process, color correction, quicktime, sound, and put on a hard drive...

thanks

From what I've seen there are some cams that record sound and some that do not. For example, I'm using an old Bolex H16 and it doesn't record sound so what I plan on doing when I shoot my first narrative with it is to record live sound onto a minidisc (or maybe a DAT) to use as reference and then ADR/foley everything and put them all together in my NLE.

There are some links to your second question in a couple threads immediately below this one.

thanks again,

How about the measurement for 8mm and 35mm cameras.

100' = how many minutes for 8mm and 35mm.

sorry for all the question i am learning and have not much experience with film cameras and i am kind of getting the idea if i want to study film.

I'm not too sure about 8 or 35. I would assume that you get more time foot for foot with 8 and less with 35 due to the frame size but there is certainly more accurate information on the www.

It looks like a good camera to me. The lens is decent at the very least. I couldn't see any teeth for the film...you might want to ask if it has teeth on one side or both. If it has them on both then I'd pass on it because double perf 16mm film is almost impossible to find.
