Adding LUT's in FCPX internal inspector menu?

Hi all, is there any way to get /hack LUT's into FCPX's internal 'LUT' menu in inspector/info column under 'LOG processing'?

I'm currently using colorfinale for this job, but its not a quick & convenient (+ has to then render everything) as the built in method (which only has a few LUT's to choose from)

cheers

LOL. At least Avid lets you load custom LUTs!

I'm sure someone reads them. As to whether or not they make it to the FCPX team, or if they're actually taken seriously - who knows. It's Apple. They do whatever they want.

Hey Ru - I am not a fan of using the log processing drop down in the inspector window either - and never got great results with the Sony preset there. (even when you use it, FCP will start rendering in the background).
I do, however, find Color Finale pretty quick to use and often rely on it for jobs that I need to turn around quickly and don't want to round-trip thru Resolve.

Have you tried using the "look grade" or base grade" in the titles browser? After you've done your edit, you can quickly add a base grade layer on top of the edited clips. And then by adding color finale to that layer - if your footage was all shot nicely - with a couple of quicks you can be real close to done. Just a suggestion, if you haven't tried it.

Hi Mark, yes I do have colorfinale..its very good, the only issue, is that it has to render as soon as you apply it. The 'in-built' LUTS don't seem to have this, which is a big time (& discspace) saver, if all thats needed is a basic LUT. I've actually found that the ARRI LUT in the FCPX internal menu is not too horrific on slog footage. Its not right, but its nicer than looking at LOG until the footage is processed correctly;)
