Our production house has just started an edit in Premiere Pro CS6 for a documentary with over 30 hours of AVCHD FS100 and FS700 footage. This is our first larger edit in Premiere with footage from these cameras.
I want to add info in the 'Tape Name' column of the footage so that the editor can re-organise the media however he likes, but so that we can still tell which tape the footage originally came from (as there will be 20+ clips in the project called '00001.mts').
I know that I can enter in this info clip by clip, but since we have over 1000 clips it would be great if there was a quicker way to do this in some sort of batch process (something we could do when we were using FCP7).
I've tried to bring the footage in to various software before Premiere (eg On Location, Prelude, Bridge) to try add the Tape info as metadata but I haven't been able to find a way - possibly because the clip metadata is kept in a separate file to the .mts media.
Alternatively, to help us in the future, if there are any Camera operators reading this who know of a way to add Tape info in-camera with the FS100/700, would love to hear your thoughts. It's something we do with our PMW-700 and it really helps in a huge edit to have that data automatically embedded.
Would be great to hear your thoughts.
Daniel
