Adapting 4:3 to 16:9 timeline...

On a recent shoot with 2 XL2's, one DP left 4:3 on for 1 scene and I had 16:9 properly on.
Is there any hope of integrating that 4:3 footage without loosing too much resolution in FCP?

Should I try capturing the 4:3 as non-anamorphic and just add bars to the top and bottom?

Anyone out there have a best-solution to this problem?

the people I know that shoot in 4:3 usually like to place the 16:9 bars on they say its because if they are loosing resolution they like to pick and choose what pixels they are loosing, look in the tech section steven depsey found a cool way to uprez to 16:9 that would be first choice unless making a very long feature.
