Adapter handheld and on tripod in one setup?

I guess the Letus Extreme and the Brevis flip are both good products. But next to imagequality I also look for practicality (is that a English word)?

I would like to get a setup with rails / mattebox / Follow Focus / Shoulderpad and grips so I can use it handheld comfortably. But at the same time I would like to put it on the tripod without attaching new rails and stuff.

I thought of Brevis Flip with Cinevate rods, indie followfocus, cavision grips. Did anyone with such a setup find a good shoulderpad (or do you simply use a towel?). And I didn´t decide on the mattebox yet.

Been looking for a similiar sounding setup myself and keep coming back to the zacuto package. Its pricey but it seems anything else would be a compromise (to me at least). I'm still looking but will probably ending up going the zacuto route. With theirs the shoulder pad quick releases and then the whole rig goes to a tripod.

Tim Ovel of Indie System has designed such a system. It is in the works and I am getting Model 1 in a few days. I will post pics.

it will feature:
24inch Carbon Fiber Rails
dual hand grips
shoulder pad.
Riser block will have enough height for LEX
Rail mount tripod adapter - to help counter balance

yeah its a little out of my budget but daaamn does it look nice! I'm trying to pare it down and see what I can do...

Sounds interesting. Any kind of belt support rod like the DV Rig Pro has?

If you get a heavy duty tripod you could do something like this:

(This is not a strong enough tripod for this setup)

Here is the handheld look.

Wow that camera is riding high.
Looks like both the camera and the LEX are raised - is that to allow for that follow focus?
If not, what's the reason?

Weill, it is that high for two reasons. One, I just set it up and I was worried about the Letus riser (which is tall) dropping down onto my DVRig. The second reason is that the photo is deceiving. The shoulder mount tilts down in front when it sits on my shoulder so the whole camera rig sits lower. I will try to post a pic to illustrate.
