adapter from Elephant

Just watched Gus Van Sant's "Elephant" on DVD, and on the extras there is behind the scenes footage. When rehearsing a scene, one camera man has got a small camcorder with some sort of adapter on it with a 35mm lens on it. I cannot figure what kind it is. Has someone else seen this?

That was filmed in my home town! I was gonna go to the casting call, but I had a test that day that couldn't be missed. I still have yet to see the movie...

That was an unbelievable movie - There were only like 4 scenes in the whole thing. The steadicam work was just amazing.

It might have been the P+S Technik VDF35 / 16. From the clips on the DVD, that is what seem like. Not sure if anyone has seen these little converters, as they are difficult to find (rental and / or sale) in US. Great form factor, not sure of the "optical / ground glass" quality, as it is intended as a "director's finder". A while back, I had a chance to handle one of these, but I have not seen the output....
