Adapter for a HVR-A1U

Hi, I need your valuable advise. I have a HVR-A1U and I would like to buy a 35mm adapter (not so expensive) that can be used on this tiny camera.
I don't know, but sometimes I feel that almost all these adapters, for what I've seen so far, produce some kind of vignetting. I'm open to your great experience and recommendations.
Another question is: Can DVCAM tapes with IC chips be used in this cameras and what's the difference between DVCAM with and without IC chip?

If you want the smallest one with a built in flip mechanism, check out the Letus35 Mini. With 37mm threads, it is a direct fit to the Sony HVR-A1U. Which is a great camera by the way! I used to have one until an unfortunate power surge I really liked that little camera.
