Active X

[Slimothy]

I see lots of webpages using Active X nowadays. What is it exactly and how can I use it to post videos on the net?

I would avoid using ActiveX, as it isn't as compatible with browsers other than Internet Explorer...

Is Active X a program you buy or can you download it?

1. ActiveX is proprietary Microsoft software
2. ActiveX is part of Internet Explorer (disabled by many - see #3), but does have a plug-in that works with Firefox browsers
3. ActiveX is notorious for security violations exploited by hackers
4. Flash-based video players are extremely popular
