Action Essentials 2 and Vegas Movie Studio

[pmk396]

Hi all,
Being a total newbie to filmmaking, Sony Vegas Movie Studio 10 is my first ever film editing software so I can get a feel and a better understanding of NLE software. However, I was wondering if I can use Video Co-Pilot's Action Essentials 2 software with Vegas Movie Studio or do I need After Effects as well?
Thanks guys.

Not sure on studio, but pretty sure it'll work just fine. It works on Vegas 7/8/9 Pro for sure.

Short answer, yes...but.

Sony Vegas is a NLE, so its not built to do compositing (which action essentials 2 is made for), but Vegas will allow for some very simple things to be done with it. I know pro allows for some very basic masking and keyframing which should be enough to make it work, but it'll take a lot longer and definitely create extra headaches.

Well, it's not After Effects by any means, but it's quite a bit more than "very basic."
