Acting Tips for E-Learning Video/Flash

I'm making some educational E-learning programs where I will appear is the program as a chromakeyed video. I'm more or less acting as the guide/teacher in a dynamic/interactive online text. The program more or less acts as a stage for me. I tried looking up some stuff with google but couldn't really find anything good. I'm looking for some tips/tutorials/forums that can help me with my acting?presenting? , I guess I'm thinking of ESPN newscastors or Celebrity Gossip newscastors , MTV VJ's, something like that where I can be informative and a bit entertaining. The main point of my E-Learning program is that the student feels a connection with the guide/teacher (me) so its more like learning from a good friend than some stiff teacher. Any ideas on where to find some good info? Acting?Broadcast Journalism?

I would recommend taking an on-camera acting class. If you really don't want to (you should), then just focus on relaxing and actually *relating* to the audience. Forget that you're talking to a camera. Imagine that there's actually someone in front of you that you're speaking to and that you're honestly trying to teach that person the material that you're presenting.

I agree with Tom.

Find someone in your mind, who you know and can relate to, who really wants to hear what you have to say and focus on speaking to that person. Make the camera that person. And pay your attention to the subject matter moreso than the idea of performing for the camera. You've got to really find the value in what you're presenting.

I'd love to take an acting class but I live in Japan and "acting" is as of yet undiscovered here. I've been teaching for 7 years so I imagine that would help but I barring acting classes does anyone know any good forums, or any good search terms? I wonder if business presentation classes would help? What do on air anchors , or espn guys study?

public speaking class maybe and knowing what your going to talk about and knowing that subject well always helped me. and even then, in my non live presentations, i always had a script to read available while shooting.

And if you're still struggling, just imagine the camera in it's underwear...

...wait a second

egproductions thanks for that link, that is very similar to what I'm making. Using Flash, After Effects and chromakeyed video to make an interactive text.
