Achieving The Film Look *Hints & Tips*

I know that it's very hard to get the film look effect on DV, especially if your camera isn't that great to begin with. This thread is for helping those who want the film look.

I'll start by posting this plugin which works tremendously. All I do is adjust the sliders by turning all of them down a little bit and then take down the saturation. It usually works great.

It's important to note that the "movie" look that most people want doesn't come from color grading, but from properly shot and lit footages to start with. Color grading can certainly help enhance the style, but overly graded footage just ends up looking amateurish. Even when doing CC it's important to understand how one component affects another instead of just applying a preset.
