So I was looking to pickup a 24"-30" lcd for use at work, and came across a lot of you-can't-beat-it-for-the-money reviews of the Acer AL2616W.
It's pretty basic - power and minimal controls up front, VGA and DVI inputs in the back and - to me, the only objectionable part - a +/- 1" silver bezel (I prefer black, but hey, that's what spray paint is for...)
Anyway, I have been working with it (and playing a lot of "Ghost Recon") for about a week, now, and I really like this monitor, a lot. Especially for the money, about $700 total. Which ain't too bad, for a 25.5" screen, I think.
In truth, my office mate's Dell looks a little better, in terms of contrast, but I haven't really adjusted mine, much. I'll put the Spyder to it tomorrow or Friday, and we'll see.
If you're looking for a large-ish lcd at a very attractive price that's actually a decent bit of hardware, I suggest you consider this one.
