accretion disk

[titohawaii]

i edit on avid Media composer so i have some boris stuff
but i need to make a accretion disk which is that swirling disk you see in a lot of space shots
you see it in a lot of things, that swirl of water going down the drain, matter going into a black hole. if you have any ideas of where i should start please post

I don't use avid or boris plugins, but here is an idea.
Use liquify in photoshop with the rotation tool and make it a macro so you can get an animation

No idea whether Media composer or Boris can do it.

Have a look at Particle Illusion - the demo version is free for a month of use, and has lots of smoke/swirly type effects (which are all customisable) - one of those played in reverse might be a good approximation of a black hole sucking matter into itself.

You actually need a moving shot? If you only need a still, the NASA website has a zillion photos which are all free to use.
