Accidentally disabling audio tracks???

I keep hitting some key – not sure which one or what I’m doing… but now whenever I bring a clip (with 2 audio tracks) into my source window (on the left) my timeline is only recognizing/giving me the option of inserting ONE audio track onto the timeline. Ugh. How do I get the other track back??

Thanks!

What is a "source window"? The left had side top is the Browser, you wouldn't "open" anythnig up in that. You probably mean the Viewer. Each window's name is in it's title bar.

If you double click a clip to open it in the Viewer, and it's a stereo pair, or mono pair, look at the Timeline. Just to the left of each track is a Patch Tab. This shows which tracks in the Timeline the clip open in the Viewer will go to. If one of your Patch Tabs is disconnected, it'll only paste one of the audio tracks.

Not sure if I'm understanding the problem correctly, but that's what is sounds like. Does this help?

Yes - the VIEWER - when i double click on a clip in my browser and it appers in the viewer only ONE patch tab is showing up - but there should be two - I know there are two because in the browser it says i have 2 audio tracks - also days ago when I was editing they were both there - now it's like one track is disabled because it's not showing up on the patch tab at all - there is only "a1"

I think i hit a quick key command and did something...

No, there's no keyboard short cut to disable an audio track like that. Not being able to see your screen directly, here's some questions I have for you:

1- What are the names of the Tabs in the Vewier when you open the clip into it?

2- Are you opening this clip from the Browser window or the Timeline window?

3- Click once to highlight the clip you are opening in the Browser window. Right click (cmd+click single mouse, yuck) that clip, from the pop-up menu select Item Properties > Format. A window comes up. Tell me what it says towards the bottom for "Audio", "Aud Rate", and "Aud Format"?

4- Total number of audio tracks in the Sequence?

Hey - sorry for the delay in response.
answers to your questions.
1) Names in the Tabs in the viewer window are: VIDEO, MONO (A1), MONO (A2), FILTERS, MOTION
2) I am opening the clip from the browser window by double clicking on it.
3) under format: AUDIO: 2 MONO, A1 MONO, A2 MONO/ AUD RATE: 48.0 KHZ, AUDIO FORMAT: 16-BIT INTERGER
4) Total number of tracks in sequence: 10

the mystery continues because there is still only one (a1) patch tab for this clip....
