Hi,
i have a boompole for an oktava mk012
I would buy :
- ktech-kssm shock moung
- Rycote BBG windshield

I have 2 questions:
1) does rycote BBG windshield 20mm or 21mm would fit or if its better 20mm ?

2) What other accessories for the oktava should i buy ? a deadcat too ?
Thanks in advance

The 20mm fits. I don't know whether the 21mm also fits.

The BBG by itself doesn't do a whole lot, so a deadcat would be a good idea.

Might be worth checking out the Rycote Baseball Windscreen and Baseball Windjammer Combo Kit, seems to be a good option...

Not my experience: the bare BBG does a lot, consistent with the Rycote 30dB max wind-noise attenuation figure, and I often use them without the windjammers. That said, it is worth having a windjammer for a BBG - and Rycote quote up to an extra 20dB wind-noise attenuation, which matches my experience.

Cheers,

Roland

Can't see how this would work with the wider front part of the Oktava MK012, as the baseball doesn't break into two like the Baby Ball Gag.

I would go for a Rycote Invision shock mount instead: for the MK012 + BBG the Invision 6 H (heavy) is probably your best bet.
Yes, to the windjammer.
Also, as the MK012 is very susceptible to handling noise, you might want to consider a Rycote TAC!T cable (an inline high-pass filter at 18db/octave): the usefulness of this will depend on your use and your preamp/mixer/recorder. The Oktava's own high-pass/low-cut filter, which comes with the movie-set version, is not much use at all as it adds a lot of self-noise: see thread about this that I started years ago - http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?305348-Oktava-MK012-low-cut-filter-self-noise

Ah, I see: have you tried it with an MK012?

No, although I own an Oktava and have seen the Rycote Baseball Windscreen at a TradeShow.

Basically the reason why it could work is because the rear entry hole of the Rycote Baseball Windscreen is a little rubbery plus has slits in it

The body of the 012 is 19mm, however the tip of the capsule's head is 21 or 22mm. I used a $5 foam screen or a dual-stage Olsen/Windtech US-2.
According to Rycote, the 'Baseball' is designed for 'light wind' conditions, and due to the 012's infamous susceptibility to air turbulence, it probably would not be a good choice. I would advise not using that mic for exteriors at all. I full Zepplin is about the only WS that would be close to adequate for exteriors. but then the 012 does not have a lot of 'reach' outside.
I like the Rycote Invison shock mount, but I'm sure the K-Tec is decent.

Just a quick addition:

If you do choose the KSSM mount, K-Tek has two different rubber bands for the mount. I am not sure which one ships with the mount these days; it used to be the stiffer variety which I would replace with the softies.

I know many here prefer the Rycote mounts, but I like the K-Tek mounts for their attachment versatility and great swivel mechanism and have found the isolation is enough for me using the soft bands. Their mic mounting is very secure and I dedicate one mount to each mic so they are always ready to go on the pole. K-Tek customer service is really good as well. I have called them for small parts and more often than not, they haven't even charged me and were quick to ship besides. Not sure where the OP is, but here in the US, that is worth something.

Edit: I used to have the Mk012 and found that the BBG is enough for interior booming. You would want to add the fuzzy over it for outside. But outside isn't that mics strong suit.
