I keep running into this issue, so I bet someone has a better solution than I do.
I am often given QuickTime files out of FCP that cannot be opened on a PC. Not even in QuickTime Pro. These files seem to be Mac-only, somehow. However, SOME programs like VLC Player will be able to play these files on a PC. And I even found one more obscure conversion software on PC that does a lower-resolution conversion of these Mac files to QuickTime playable on PC. But it is a lower-resolution file.
Surely, there's a better way to get these Mac files converted on a PC, given that VLC and these cheap conversion software can handle the files. I've tried Avid, After Effects, and Sorenson Squeeze, all to no avail.
Any tips?
