Sorry to write again, but apparently no one knows the answer to my question. I have looked over previous posts to no avail. I guess I'll call Panasonic tomorrow... Thanks.

Rush, no need for a plate as there is a DC socket in the well. But it is a 7.2V DC in. No way they would have a 12V in as they would have to design in a 12 to 7V converter, making the camera more complex and expensive.

Yes it does, I just meant the 12VDC plug like an Anton Bauer Powertap lug, so one does not have to worry about converting. But as Dolgin said, that would make it more complex. Having it would just make things simpler, that's all. Then you can use a common 12VDC Video powersupply that can give the right Amps.
Lets reiterate the (+) and (-) statement from GenJerDan. Make sure they are correct or you will be kicking yourself and a massive amounts of "I told you so's" will be posted here.
Thanks for the help! I actually found out that the DVX100A works with panasonic's "consumer" grade charger/AC adaptor (pv-dvac11a). It was only $70 (half of what the original charger sells for). Again, thanks for your help.
