Was browsing through a local hobby store . . . a lot of toy and hobby companies must recognize that those of us who grew up in the '70s and '80s are in prime economic position now, because there's an awful lot of reissued stuff. Remember Aurora AFX? The Tyco slot cars?

Anyway, a lot of models have been reissued, and among them, the good ol' General Lee from "The Dukes of Hazzard." Pretty much all of us had that when we were kids, and the box is exactly the same as it was back them -- same logos, photos, etc. . .

Except that in every picture, the Confederate flag is airbrushed out. And there's a tagline which says "Flag Decal Included."

Stuff like that makes me want to sneak into DC at night and glue a cigarette holder to FDR's statue.

Just plain stupid. Right up there with the airline getting sued over a flight attendant saying "Eeny,menny, miny, moe".
 
a group of black passengers got in a tizzy because they said it's from an old southern rhyme that goes: "enny meenie miny moe, catch a n**gger by it's toe..." Supposedly the original doesn't include "catch a tiger by it's toe"... who knows.
 
exactly, and the reason for getting upset over it? If she had done it with bad motives or intention, that's one thing...
 
By the way it was two passengers who were late for the flight. There were two seats left. The whole line was "Enny meenie miney moe, take a seat here we go"
 
which was completely innocent and her attempt at being cute. No reason for people to get all offended and make an issue of it other than to play the race card.

People are law suit happy. When someone can't take a joke or they misinterpret something, it's time to call the lawyer. They probably have a lawyer on speed-dial, just hoping for an "incident" that causes emotional stress.

Let's have fewer lawyers and more teachers and DVXusers!
 
... and the justice system that allows them too.

In my country (which I'll probably start once I find a nice empty contintent to take over), there will be a National Office of BS Detection. I'll be the head of it. Anything like this that comes across my desk will get the big fat BS stamp and that's the end of that!
 
The rebel flag that was on the original car in the T.V. show is now considered politicaly incorrect to show / display.

The Flag being removed. Interesting. Reminds me of the ferver it causes at football games and similar events; or what about the Washington Redskins or Atlanta Braves? You know; I am Irish and that LOGO that Notre Dame uses upsets me. I am not a Leprechan you know.

People need to get lives and get over it. Spend that energy on helping children or something.
