About to buy Vegas Movie Studio 9

I have a Panasonic HMC40 and have used the Edius Neo 2 software that came with it. It worked fine until I upgraded to Windows 7 (32 bit) and have since been unable to see the video (the video editor screen is now blank). I downloaded trial version of Edius 5 (same problem), After Effects (too many issues editing AVCHD), and Vegas Movie Studio and Vegas seemed the best.

I'm completely know to all things camera and editing related. Is there anything I should know? A newer version on the way to hold out for? Store with the best price? Add ons needed to assist in easily editing AVCHD? Any input is appreciated. Thanks
 
You're having problems with After Effects because it's not a video editor. It's a compositing/motion graphics program. Anyway, Vegas runs great on Win7. I've had no problems editing AVCHD.

:2vrolijk_08: thanks for the heads up. With all of the different parts of cs I get so confused. I got an email back from Edius saying their software is not supported by windows 7 and that I'd probably have to buy a new video card. Ill put that money toward Vegas instead
