about Sub clips?need help fast!

I was wondering if it is possible to cut a clip in Vegas so that the parts of a clip you dont need can be deleted from the hard drive? For instance. IF i have a clip but only want different parts of this clip. can the parts i dont need be deleted permenantly or clips just stay the same unless you capture only the parts you want? sorry if that sounds confusing i dont know how else to ask it.

or maybe the question is. can you make two seperate clips(files) from one big clip?

Sure, at the very least you could render the clip out back to DV AVI. There are other lossless methods to render out the piece you want to. I don't know of a way to chop a DV AVI file without rendering. Might be some way.
 
Cool. i'll tuck that in my belt for later. Does rendering occur or just cut and copying?
