About Smeggin' time!

Any real fan of the show won't have to click that link to know what you're talking about... the only question I had was series returning, or movie?

I heard SS bought the rights to do a feature.

It will be interesting to see what they can do on a given budget now... since a shoe-string goes a lot further then it used to. My biggest annoyance in the old series was that it looked like it was shot with my first RCA camcorder... not a big deal, but they could probably make the show look great now (if they want to).

I'd only be interested if Rob Grant returned (unlikely). The (Grant-less) last season and miniseries were a bit weak.
Has anyone seen the second US remake? I've seen the first US remake pilot on the internet, which was surprisingly funny, but can't find the second "retooled" version (and I don't mean Star Trek Voyager).

Am I the only one who thought the series went downhill after the first two seasons?

Nope. I hope they don't do something hastily. In that link one of them says they thought "return to earth" was going to be kind of making a bit of a joke out of the series... sort of laughing at themselves and letting fans in on it. I hope they don't go into anything new with that attitude. If done properly (written well) it could be a pretty big success.

A friend of mine just got back from the UK recently when she went to the Red Dwarf Con that was held over there. She told me that yes, she had it confirmed a new series was coming.

I liked the episodes up till the prison series. I still like them, but not as much.

I am looking forward to a new season though. I got to meet Robert Llewellyn at DragonCon two years ago and even hung out with him in the line at the aquarium. Let me tell you, there are few celebrities that have impressed me more then him. AWESOME guy.
