jUST WANT TO KNOW IF I CAPTURE and do the visual edit in vegas studio platinum 9 (capturing mini-dv.....dv-avi) what should i render to so my soundtrack artist can work on the music track and finish/burn in final cut

Ah yeah, if this is miniDV, that might be a better option. The soundtrack guy should have a miniDV camera to read back the tape (because I am not sure you can just send him the AVI files, FCP doesn't import most files, even if it supports them via capturing).

yeah that might not be an option.......i have some timing issues to submit to TIFF. So no other suggestions guys. id appreciate it, theres gotta be a way around it without going back to tape....no?.....dont really have a choice

Unfortunately, I'm not sure what all render options are available in VMS. If this is just a copy of the edit for him to cut the music to, then you can go with AVC/MP4/H.264 or a lo-res Quicktime.

Yes thanks alot. Actually i am considering putting feelers out for someone with final cut to keep it simple.......Been having a problem with video on my laptop, computer is crashing when i render large files and since i will have to burn i dont wanna be fiddling.

But yes i that would work, think a may have a hardware conflict or something
