tape. But, Is it that easy? Advantages

??. Is it a good deal buy a pre

owned camera with long drum & heads hours and use it with one of this HDD?. Help me. Thanks.

ANYTHING is better than tapes. I'm currently using DV Monitor Pro and my Powerbook for shots from a tripod and an nNovia Quickcapture when I need to go with "handheld". I haven't put a tape in the camera in months.

I think it can be used with all cameras with a firmewire port, but i'm not sure now, I was thinking on using this with a PD150 or a PD170. Can anyone tell me if this can work well?.

The fs100 can be used with any camera but if you don't have a camera that records with the dvc pro codec, why bother? focus enhancements do make other firestore drives for just minidv but the firestore can do minidv, dvc pro50 and dvc pro100 which is HD. I like it a lot, 100 gigs recording 720p at 24pn gets me about 2 1/2 hours of footage! I do an entire day of shooting and it's all I need. There are moments I wish I had a p2 card or two but for the most part, I really like the firestore. Plus if you need to do a mini dv shoot you get around 450 minutes of footage! You can also choose the type of video format to record in; HD I can do p2, whatever avid uses, quicktime, which is great if you work with final cut. In minidv you have an entire slew of video options to work with as well. What I like the most is I can plug it into my computer and just click on random video files to view my footage via quicktime.
