I'm planning to buy a 12core Mac Pro for post pro purpose. On the mac website, you can tailor its configuration to your needs. I see several options for Memory from 6GB to 64GB. I wonder how much would be sufficient for my need and don't want to pay toooo much.
I hopefully, I mean really hopefully I'll get my hand on RED and edit with Red RAW footages. Would love to use DaVinci Resolve for color grading, etc etc. Which memory would be enough for that kind of editing? I'd get my hand also on Maya for CGI.
Also, the processor you can choose is from 2.66GHz to 2.93GHz. What is the major difference btwn these two?
If anyone's got time, what overall settings would you choose for post production?
