Abnormal to feel like you do everything on set??

If it turns out okay, put me down as the Armorer/ stunt coordinator. If not, well, nevermind

:cheesy:

2-3 being minimal. like chaplin back in the day, or rodriguez does now...i've worked on sets on films and reality shows where there were crew members, myself included, doing absolutely nothing....the last job i did was Canada's next top model season one and there were 6 of us in grip and electrics and they could have pretty much cut 4 of us. We'd show up, watch movies and hide out while the producers wasted hundreds of thousands of dollers on that show. Consequently they never got hired to produce season 2. haha.

I just have a hard time right now describing looks to people, its fine in my head but I can't get that out in words, I have to show people. I guess obviously it's something I still have to work on as a cinematographer I'm still young.

That's a great source for head wear, as I usually just sit in my director's chair (although it doesn't say "director" it says "GOD" on the back) and yell orders through my mega phone. I also wear a ton of hats, usually 4-5 all at the same time. I find it intimidates the cast/crew and backs up my artistic mystique. Would you mess with a crazy dude wearing 5 hats at once while yelling at you with a mega phone? *

I recommend that for you beginners out there, to start with a big Abe Lincoln style top hat. It is big but until you get used to stacking up to 5 different hats on your dome at once, stick with the top hat. Also, you can rig up some flasks of booze up inside the top hat.

* Another tip that relates to the megaphone: I like to yell in German when I really want to make the crew hustle. They have no idea what I'm saying and it sounds serious when you go on a tirade in that particular language. You don't have to be completely fluent either unless you have actual German people on set. I mix in real German language with made-up German sounding words that I improvise on the spot. It's great fun really.

There was really only the one film Rodriguez ever did this on. Do you really think 'Desperado' had a three person crew?

how about spy kids, the clooney scene? he showed up at clooney's office by himself and shot that scene in 30 minutes.
