A1 out of focus?

Hey guys.

Im using my bro's Jag35 Pro right now and im at a loss here. My Xh-A1 is constantly out of focus. I can see things, but they're all blurry. I followed the instructions that were given, but still nothing.

And when i do get a crisp image, i've got the out line of the adapter at the corners of the screen.

Any ideas?

If you're able to get sharp image at a certain point then it's possible the achromat isn't strong enough to let you zoom in to the GG and still maintain focus.

And also, i've heard that people have had better results if their was a flip unit involved. Would that be comparable to an extension tube?

Did you check your backfocus? and a flip unit I don't think would help. It sounds like you might need a better Achromat, I thought you got your Brevis? A flip unit actually makes things softer, because there is another layer of glass that camera has to go through...if that makes sense...Did you check your lens? Could be a problem with it the lens...Can you throw a screen grab up or a clip

Sure, but im using my bro's Jag35 cause i lost a bet. He gets to use my Brevis for two months, i have to use his adapter :D

And the lens is working fine. I used it on a M2e two days ago.

Sounds like a Achromat problem....I was looking at Jag35's website and they have a different variation for your camera (XH-a1) you might need to buy that...Didn't you say the Jag35 was for your brother's Hv20/30? (I might be wrong) If thats the case you need to upgrade so you can use it with your camera...

Also on a side of loosing bets if I lost a bet I would NEVER trade my adapter with anyone. If you used YOUR own money for the adapter trade it back and work some other deal. You never cna tell what can happen to it in two months....

Actually i fixed it! All i had to do was hit magnify on the camera and zoom out a bit and now it works fine!

Its for his HV30, but he purchased the 72mm achromat so he could use it with the school's DVX's. Anyways, he's my little brother. And every time he goes out for a shoot, i'm always there "just in case" if you know what im saying lol
