I'm trying to export my film as a wide screen format, but there seems to be something wrong.
Here are the details of what I'm doing:
I shot with a DVX100b at 24p in Squeeze mode. Imported to FCP 5 as DV NTSC anamorphic, the sequence is DV NTSC (3:2) anamorphic.
In motion, the distortion is 0.
I export it to a QT conversion as DV/DVPRO NTSC as Interlaced 16:9. Size is 720X480, 'preserve aspect ratio' is unchecked.
The QT looks fine in the computer, the window appears to be at 16:9, and when I go to 'Full screen' mode there are bars at the top and bottom.
BUT- when I'm burning a DVD something seems to go wrong.
I'm using iDVD, define the project as 16:9, importing the QT I've created, and burn a dvd.
When I watch it on my tv there are NO top/bottom bars. When I watch it on the Mac's dvdplayer there are bars on the SIDES (rather than top/bottom) !
What am I doing wrong?
The DVD film should have top/bottom bars when played, right...?
(btw, I tried unchecking the 'Preserve aspect ratio' option in the QT file and then save it, but when I open it again it shows checked again...the pixles it shows are 853X480).
