It all seemed so simple then... 
. Just invent your mixer, recorder, get a crane for the mic....presto! Some where I've seen a picture of some of the first lavs, a cable and a albatross around the neck deal. We really are working with some great stuff now days. I liked the quote "a degenerate and misguided attempt to destroy the use of film" Sounds like a shoot Rippie was on lately.
