So this weekend we get to do just that, a very skeleton crew, 3 total. Not bringing any lights or anything, using what's there. Shooting on a t2i with a selection of primes: 11-16, 28, 50, 85, 135. Hopefully will have dslr rig, tripod and slider but do not have a follow focus. Given that we have this once in a lifetime opportunity but also have some very real non negotiable restrictions wanted to see if any had advice on how to make the most of it in such an amazing location. I am assuming the wide angle lenses will really do some cool things in those tight passageways, well actually the whole damn thing is tight. Anyways, if you have an idea, love to hear it...

Tripods are a pain on a ship... even when docked... Depending on what you want/need to get, I suggest getting a monopod.

Get some webing/straps/short rope to make slings and harnesses for the monopod with camera, and you can create some pretty stable shots by attaching the webbing to bulkhead <whateverworks> things.

Power. Depending on where you are, there may be sockets you are not use to seeing... if you need AC.

Expect your camera to go overboard... and work accordingly...

Make sure your shots do not include any sensitive information...

The 2ti is a great rig for tight spaces ... maybe go for those shots that no other camera could get .... Do you have a story? Are you putting out an emergency call for writers? All you need now is a great story and great Actors .... get cracking! Maybe shoot a documentary ... get a sailor to lead you around and explain his job/life to you ....

Thanks guys, yes we have a story, its for Rod's ThrillFest entry, I may be able to get my hands on a monopod, i also have a large gorillapod which i expect will come in very handy as well. This availability came on short notice so getting everything perfect and having every piece of equipment that we would want just won't happen but should be alot of fun either way, reeeally wish i had a follow focus.
