Hi everyone,

I recorded with a lavalier :
- plugged into a pcm,
- plugged into a sound devices preamp and recorded in a pcm-m10
- plugged in directly in my camcorder

The list above is not in the order that is appearing in the video

If you record to the video, which sound do you like better, NUMBER 1, 2 or 3 ?

If you want people to listen to yet another of your "tests", you will need to tell us WHY you are doing the test, and WHY you want our opinion?
 
i wonder if i should keep my sound devices or keep using only the xlr block of my camera sony hxr-nx30.
I plug a lavalier in it. I make other test to be sure. its difficult to say. i should be more careful with my test.

I wanted to know if you think the 3rd sound is a bit muffled, but sound fuller, more fat. The 2nd would probably sound better but a little thin, less muffled..

Conclusion:
sound 1 is better than sound 2
sound 3 is the best but a bit muffled (maybe the mic was a hidden a bit too much)

do you agree with my opinion?

I don not believe your test is valid. It sounded iike the microphone was in a different place for each test.
If you want to make a valid test you must KEEP EVERYTHING IDENTICAL except for the thing that you are testing.
Please learn how to do valid tests before posting any more of these.
I still don't understand why you want OUR opinion? Are you not capable of hearing and deciding for yourself?
 
I use microphones plugged into the XLR inputs of similar Sony camcorders frequently.
I never encounter the "problems" you seem to find.
I can only think that there are other problems with your gear or your technique.
Continuing to post the results of tests with one equation and 4 unknowns is a waste of your time and ours.

Yes and no. When I play it through my Sony headphones on my PC sound 1 is better than sound 2, but sound 2 is better than sound 3.
When I play it through ProTools and my Focal Twin6 Be's, sound 2 is better than sound 1 and sound 3.
When I play it through my Mac then sound 1 is better than sound 2 and sound 3 is best.

Yeah, frustrating as hell but entertaining in a way. He completely revealed the patient and giving nature of some of the brains trust of dvxuser. Drove me nuts but some of the lengthy, patient and dumbed down explanations filled in a lot of blanks for me so in the end the threads were worthwhile. I learned some things. ironpony, not so much. :)
