A suggestion for EVS

One of the things I like most about B&H is the feature of making a wish list. EVS should start doing that.

I'll get that over to our Webmaster, thanks! ;)

Re: A suggestion for EVS

Seriously, you guys should clone the operations of B&H's website. I would totally web-order all the time from you guys, but I'm not much for phoning and talking -- I like to look it up, pick it out, click on the order button and be done. Match B&H's website and you'll get a bazillion more orders! :)

Also, adding "breadcrumbs" for navigation would be great. I find myself at a product page and would like to jump up to the page the product is categorized within. That allows me to locate similar products.

And yes, BH also has this feature :)

That is exactly what we're working on right now, and I am going to try and see of the Webmaster can also add an automatic discounted price sheet that goes into effect when you type in "DVXuser" as your discount code, or at least alerts me to modify all the prices. ;D

Thanks. I got this over to our Webmaster as well, just now. Without all these suggestions we really are just flying blind. :)
We look forward to adding many more products to our site and getting it up to par with our major role models very soon. ;D

Re: A suggestion for EVS

B&H has "Everything is free Sunday"...

Can you guys have that too? ;D

They do free shipping w/ that don't they?

Re: A suggestion for EVS

Hey everyone, I want to give you all a big thank you for all of the compliments that you have given EVS.

As far as the suggestions that are posted for our website, many of them are currently in the process of being developed right now. I personally love listening to our customers opinions and ideas and am making changes all the time based on those opinions. So please, keep them coming! :)

Well, I got to get back to working on our next catalog, but I just wanted to let you all know that I am listening to you guys and love hearing what you have to say.

If you have more ideas, feel free to post here, or send me an email directly at webmaster@evsonline.com

Thanks again!

Re: A suggestion for EVS

No! Don't give up the Free Sunday thing -- that was going to rule!

Seriously, as I've said a hundred times, the B&H website is nearly perfect, so if you could clone that, you'd be set. Get the entire EVS catalog up on it, cross-reference products by recommended accessories, and let us browse by category, and make wish lists and have online shipping calculations... what more would someone want? You guys would rule, especially for us West-Coasters who could now order at midnight and have it show up by ground shipping the next day!

Re: A suggestion for EVS

Barry, can you explain a little further the cross-reference products by recommended accessories? that's interesting to me.

As far as the wish list and shipping calcs, those are in the near future.

Thanks.

I think Barry is suggesting that when you click on an item, a slew of related accessories and such should be listed with the product that you may also add to your cart. Right Barry?

Re: A suggestion for EVS

That's what B&H does. For example, you click on Frezzi Mini-Fill, and under the specs it'll say "recommended accessories: MFSB soft box, dichroic filter, XLR battery belt, etc." and each of those are clickable to take you directly to the product.

This isn't quite necessary, but it's kind of nice to help you round out your kit.

I have learned so much from that feature. Sometimes, at the last minute I'll forget a part A, but I know it goes with another part B. So I'll look that up, and BOOM, pops up the part A I want, right in the recommended accy's. Yeah that's a cool feature. ;D

Sure, I used to buy from all the time before I started working here. They have always had a great website. ;)
