A rolling line on my 42' TV. Any ideas what it could be?

Hey guys reaching out to the DVX community to see if you guys could help me trouble shoot my problem on my Panasonic 42' 720p plasma TV I bought 4 months ago...

At first I thought it was a connection problem but it is constant no matter if I'm using my DVD player, video game, or cable.

It's a thin faint horizontal line that rolls up. It makes the picture look blown out and it roughly half to an inch thick. It doesn't make the TV unwatchable but is pretty annoying especially since I just got it. I know in the end I will have to send the TV out to either get replaced or fixed so I'm just looking for someone tell me what might be in store for me down the road :/

Many thanks in advance.

Thanks Bigez!

Would you believe as soon as I read that I plugged it directly into the wall and bingo no more lines! Thanks so much!

That's really weird that, that would be the problem haha.

I had faint rolling lines when using component cables, but when I switched to HDMI, problem gone.

Power strips/power source could definitely be a factor, thanks for weighing in, Bigez.

I suspect this is the issue... Analog signals (most consumer connections other than DVI or HDMI) are highly susceptible to this problem, though it can often be eliminated by switching the ground connection on the TV. It can also manifest itself as a hum, as we've all heard.

I've heard other absurd solutions such as actually breaking off the ground rod on the plug in order to simply eliminate the issue, and while it isn't entirely hazardous on its own, the ground is there for a reason...

HDMI is digital and thus wouldn't exhibit such problems (though don't think the cable isn't being afflicted... it just doesn't show up). Additionally, power lines are not always the only ground! My PS3's A/V cable is unfortunately awful with this, and even fails when coax cables are plugged into the TV (they count as another outgoing ground). The solution is unfortunately to unplug my coax line for the time being, or to use HDMI when possible - which is sadly only on one of my TVs.
