One of our actors discovers the joys of dolly surfing!

Each track is in three sections connected only by short pieces (4 in) of the same PVC with a slot cut in it. It's laid over slightly uneven ground and anchored only at the ends with a couple of spikes (which also keep the dolly from running off the ends).

Even with all the inherent wobbliness, it works flawlessly!

Nice! I like to understand more about how you are connecting the sections of pipe. I have a great dolly platform, but my track needs some work.
 
I took short (8") sections of PVC the same diameter as the track and cut ¼" slots lengthwise in them. I forced them halfway into one end of each track section and glued them in place. When I want to attach the track sections I just jam them onto the bit of the split piece sticking out of the previous section.
