A.pack

I just finished a beautiful mix for a feature film. It was mixed in 5.1 and I'm getting ready to have Dolby come in and do the print master (both a 5.1 & an LT/RT). As far as putting it on a dvd -- I'm using DVD Studio Pro. Does using A.PACK for the 5.1 mix lessen the quality? I know it compresses aiff's to another format, does this reduce the sound? What are my other options besides A.PACK to get 5.1 onto a DVD? And lastly, do I need to put both the 5.1 & the LT/RT on the disc? I'd prefer not to cause I'm trying to leave as much room as possible to up the bitrate for the video for maximum quality. THANKS

When you buy a commercial DVD, it is not in AIFF format. It is almost always in the Dolby Digital which is what you get from A.Pack.

A.Pack, wow, you're on a really old version of Final Cut, eh?

Dolby 5.1 won't degrade your AIFF sound quality. You'll be fine.

Apple Pro Training Series, Compressor Quick-Reference Guide, this book covers doing the converstion, etc. Super nice book.
