A New Opinion of Film Students

I really haven't worked with either film school students or recent grads very often, but my impression of them (regarding usefulness on set) has never been great. But I worked with a crew out of the Colorado Film School today and they were efficient , knowledgeable and professional. They knew when to speak up and when to shut up. They sandbagged their stands, told us when they were striking a light, taped down stingers without being told, and generally behaved like they knew something, but not like they knew everything (if you know what I mean). I don't know if that curriculum is different than some of the other schools here in Colorado, but they are teaching them something worthwhile.

Good to hear. I haven't really considered anywhere outside California or New York but I think I should start researching all the other places.

edit -- I typed "good to hear" before seeing Horse's post.

After the last film student I got saddled with on a shoot, it's reassuring to be reminded that they're not *all* doofus windbaggos.

Anyone been to or know anything about that school? im from wyoming originally and i wouldnt mind attending a school in colorado. Any reviews?

I use them all the time. They're great. This time I'll have some as interns.
