A most impressive rig

[Vultch]

I grabbed this at CES 2017, this is one impressive rig.

Starting at the top,

(i) the parabolic dish I guess is a Mic of some sort
(ii) then he has two lume cubes - lighting
(iii) then we see a rode mic plus built in recorder, I think
(iv) then another mic
(v) then the rig handle
(vi) then another rifle mic.
(vii) Switch to the other side and the rig is carrying a Zoom H6 audio recorder
(viii) the DSLR camera.

Plus various adapters, magic arms etc

Can you better this?

I'm trying to decide if this guy knows what he is doing or if he is utterly insane.

[David W. Jones]

What no cup holder?

[markfpv]

would like to see the pics of him carrying it around large convention floor. But he's obviously more concerned with sound than picture.

If you look at the back of his shirt, it appears to say "Sound Shark". Lol.

I'm gonna step out on a limb and say he was doing some type of special/niche recording, possibly experimental.

I got a glimpse of the "dish" mic back in October 2016 in the NYC PhotoexpoPlus, it looks very awkward and can't remember details of the product, but I recall that the results were pretty amazing range wise.

[markfpv]

seeing his eyeglasses pushed into that eyecup so close - I'm gonna assume those are cheaters he's wearing - or he's really got that diopter working experimentally.

[Wes.]

I'd bet he's in the middle of making an audio comparison between microphones. And if i'm wrong, this man is bonkers.
