A-minina footage????

Help Me Out Guys! I'm Looking For Any Type Of Footage Shot With The A-minima Camera. I'm Doing A Research About This Camera And I Might Going To Use It To Shoot A Feature Very Soon. I've Heard They're Noiseless So Thats Pretty Good. The Bad Thing Is That They Only Hold Up To 200 Ft But Still Great.

you have heard WRONG !! they are not noiseless at 29db - they are not a Aaton XTR at 20db .. every 3db is doubling of noise !!!
so basically you'll need to barney it and put a few sound blankets over camera/operator on many interior shots ... the camera is more for special uses ( B camera) not a A camera ...

IMO if you're buying look for a used XTR or SR II ......
rentals look at SRII or older Aaton LTR's or XTR ...

if you want a less expensive 29db camera that take 400 ft loads - NPR's , CP 16 & a few others ...
 
A-minima is nearly impossible to use with dialogue in a small room. It's just too loud.

Music vid's, back of the truck shots, it's perfect.

but how are you going to shoot the entire movie if you can't record sound for the dialogue scenes? I've heard the camera is too noisy.
 
i shoot in a phonebooth with one, didnt seem to bad, but then again the only version of the footage i saw was after it was edited... so i dunno if they did a lot in post to reduce the soound.

It is a nice camera though. I would shoot on one again. Maybe not a feature but definitly shorts, commericals or music videos.

Actually portions of it were shot on the Aaton A-Minima, the Aaton XTR Prod, as well as one technovision formatted Arriflex 35mm. The rape scene in it's entirety could not have been filmed on a 200ft mag, as it lasts on screen approximately 18.5 minutes uncut. It was mentioned in AC, that Noe employed the XTR for that sequence as well as others.
