A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Will a Zelda movie ever be made? I heard the creator Shigeru Miyamoto of The Legend of Zelda does not Hollywood to even touch this. I don't blame him, Super Mario Bros the movie, Street Fighter.

Anyone know any links or info if there is going to a Link movie?

BS

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

god i hope not.

i think it "could" be really cool. but i believe hollywood wouldnt know how to handle this one and would trash the hell out of it.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

They would screw it up. They CANNOT be allowed to touch Zelda!

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Shigeru Miyamoto thought it was going to be a good idea giving Hollywood the okay to do Mario Bros, well, he'll never do it agian. :-[

I actually email a rep of Miyamoto and ask him if he has any plans of a Zelda movie. No response yet. I think its been 3 years since I emailed them.

I should email them agian and make sure I tell them that I'm not from Hollywood.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

what if someone like Peter Jackson was allowed to make Zelda? do you think he could pull it off?

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Zelda was such a huge part of my childhood. I honestly don't trust anyone to make a movie out of it.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Yeah, If I were to choose a director, would prob be Peter Jackson. Visually that would probably be look of a Zelda movie. I don't think Peter Jackson ever played the Zelda game. whoknows?

BS

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Damn...when I saw that I thought there was a movie being made...I've beaten every Zelda game made...and I just beat 4 Swords today actually.

I have to agree with TC, if it ever got made it just couldn't be good. I don't think anyone could do it.

The core of Zelda is Link gathering weapons, fighting a ton of enemies and solving puzzles, then beating a boss...and moving on...

There's no way a movie could be made...and no matter how hard someone tries...
Link...tights...pointed ears...Cool as a game character...but easily ruined...

My two cents... 8)

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

i would say that there is a 90% chance that hollywood would fail in making a zelda movie. if the right person got ahold of it, it could be kinda cool...but they would never let the right person get ahold of it...they would probly give it to someone like Renny Harlin or whatever...or Paul W.S. Anderson.

how cool would it be though to have crazy battle scenes where link is just hacking the shite out of all the creaturs....it "could" be cool...

edit:oops, been a long time...forgot that link was the little bastard.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

alright...yeah it "could" be cool!

But see, for it to truly be good, it would have to be made by a HARDCORE Zelda fan...

Someone who knows that the top left tree in the original Zelda next to the ocean can be burned...Triceratops die when they eat bombs...Grumble Grumble means the bad guy wants meat...and that some walls can be walked through...

Just to name a few...

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

hahaha...yeah that burning bush, awesome...i think i stuck with that game up to zelda 3 or something....

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

yeah, that would suck if hollywood got a hold of this movie and casted keanu Reaves as Link or the middle Hasen brothers as Zelda.

Well, you know Hollywood is doing a live action trasformer movie. I hope they freakin do it right.

Middle Hanson? or...the little glasses kid from Jerry Macguire..."You had me at Triforce"

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Phil, you did have me at triforce.

I can't wait for the new Zelda.

Part of the reason hardcore fans love Link so much is becasue it's a love hate relationship. You KNOW where you need to go, you know what tool you need, but you just can't find the goddamn hookshot! And you spend days running around Hyrule looking for it. And you hate the game, and you hate Link, and you hate your life, and you don't give a **** about saving Zelda. But then you find it, and you get into the dungeon, and beat the boss, and you get a heart container and a new weapon. And you love Link once again.

No movie could recreate that.

Then, you beat the game, and you want to see what Hyrule is like after you beat Ganon (or whatever form he may appear in) but it just doesn't work like that! So you have to start the game all over again. :P

Rant over, I'm gonna go start a new game of Windwaker.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Well put! :) ha

(good luck finding all one million of those goddamn sunken treasures!)

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

GOD! I know! I beat it once about 6 months ago, and I only got like half of them. I hate when you can see the little halo in the water, and you go up to where you think it is, and you fish around for like ten minutes and then give up and throw your controler through the TV.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

The only Zelda game that I could never beat is the 2nd Link game(the adventures of link). That shiat is hard. I just started playing windwalker.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

Wind Waker is a lot different from Ocrina (which I think was better than Majora's Mask.) At first I didn't like it's visual style, but I grew to love it very quickly.

Adventures was a hard one.

Re: A Legend of Zelda Movie..

TC! You just reminded me...i never beat Majora's Mask...I even bought the book...that was insane!!!

Find the man who writes letters, at 11am, run to the old woman, give her the letter, before the sun rises (which is 12 seconds later) shoot 12 arrows into the sun, jump up and down (no jump button) and build a machine that produces electricity out of Play Doh and Coffee grounds...and so on...

the end of that game is so hard it's not worth beating...

P.S. Finding the coffee grounds was the hardest part... :)
