Moderators, feel free to take this down if it violates anything. However, I'm not a shill for the company- just trying to spread the word about a raw deal that spawned a good deal.
For about 5 years I've been a producer for Revostock.com. Revostock accumulated a site full of stock media (footage, After Effect templates, music, etc) over the years and did very well for me. Then, a couple of years ago, Revostock was sued by a "Patent Troll" for software infringement. Patent Trolls are companies known to acquire broad software patents they can use to sue businesses. There is a full explanation of this on their site and it's a pretty scary thing for any small internet based business. As you can imagine, defending against the lawsuit was a daunting proposition- it can cost up to 2 million. Revostock is a small, privately owned company.
The good news is that after a couple of years of legal hell, the lawsuit was dismissed. The bad news is that a lawsuit like this drains a company financially- so to gain revenue the company is offering a Patent Troll bundle, with the full cooperation of the producers who "donated " the files in it. It consists of 40 files voted on by the producers to include in the bundle (files they all would like to own!). There are 15 After effects templates, 15 stock video files, 7 music tracks, 7 sound effects and a Motion template in the bundle. Price of the bundle at normal prices is over $1000, but for a couple of weeks they are selling it for $40.
